My name is Morgath the bound Imp familiar and companion to Magi Armand Quickshar and it was my duty to call to order the meeting of the Network Inner Council which met at the Hidden Underground Base and Temple of Hecate known Nym’Kren or the Deep Earth.
The meeting took place in the main office of the Master at the Setting Moon table in remembrance of our Goddess Hecate. In attendance the Magi Armand Quickshar Cambion/Changeling, High Eldritch Disciple of the Cult of Hecate Am’Irin Alet’tar Half-Nymph/Drow Elf, Eldritch Theurge Kal’Rath Alet’tar Half-Vampire/Drow Elf, Magi Markessa Nogar Amphibious/Psiforged, Magi Vash Laren Dark Changling, Sorceress Delilah Varosh Cambion/Dark Changling, and of course Adept Morgath Pseudonatural Imp myself of course.
Magi Armand had called the emergency meeting in order to relay information regarding Narvada the Entity that had once been bound and recently freed by Justice that was now wrecking havoc with time and space.
Magi Armand: My companions while the High Chair is indeed mine remember when you all profit so does the Network. It has come to my attention that an Entity known as Narvada has recently risen from a long slumber and has begun to affect reality as we know it. As a matter of fact up until recently the Network much to my dismay I assure you had profited from the intervention of Justice with the aid of this Entity. Of course there is a mystery, the spirit of Narvada was not originally part of the spiritual bond that is shared by those accepted by Justice it is a parasite. I gained this knowledge from the memories of a Tiefling ninja and former member of Justice who took his own life after Justice released Narvada who went by the name Natakoo. Moments ago Morgath and I suffered a personal spiritual invasion connected to Jim the Weasel familiar of Drago that hurled us into the past that left us severely diminished in power and ability. I will share with you my observations of that and past events and then I want you thoughts in words for the official record before we move forward.
Disciple Am’Irin: First of all thank Magi Armand for you candor in this matter for as Hecate teaches knowledge is power. Now since power is what we all seek then our situation is precarious for in order to know how best to deal with Narvada we must first understand how he was bound. I would advise we look into the viability of resurrecting Natakoo since he seems to have had some kind of link to Celestial entities that were instrumental in Narvada’s initial confinement. Not that I am not thankful for all that power we and Hecate have gained from Narvada but as you can attest Magi Armand the power of Narvada is to vast to remain unchecked. Therefore I propose if Natakoo can be resurrected or not we place serious effort into finding a method to rebind Narvada just in case he ever decides to turn against us. We must have faith for Hecate always provides.
Theurge Kal’Rath: Master you desire will always be mine and since the day your presence first crossed my path and offered me the chance to grow in power with you. I have never regretted that decision so I will speak directly. We must waste no time in probing the past of Jim the Weasel in order to prepare you for what may come in the future. I agree that killing Jim the Weasel would not balance out on the ledger as I am sure Disciple Am’Irin could attest. I also would recommend terminating you link with Justice regardless of the fact that Mordalfus or Kameron are members it would be my pleasure to take you place as you Agent among them and let the risks fall upon me. As always I am you most loyal and humble servant and as I have not failed to turn the Network University into a thriving Criminal Network and Magical University the task you set before me. Let me go forth as I know this Justice I have seen them with my own eyes and by Hecate I will not fail you my Master.
Magi Markessa: Master while I would not dare to dispute the accomplishments of Theurge Kal’Rath or the knowledge and wisdom of Disciple Am’Irin I have an approach that I think we should consider. As it has been my primary job these last ten years to get to know Perciphea well actually Center to be exact. Running Markessa’s Companions and Inn has allowed me to see firsthand from the people of Perciphea just how precarious the situation has become. While I respect the power of Narvada and even would support the concept of researching how to acquire at the very least some kind of defense against its power. There is yet another approach we could try. I suggest we open a dialog with Narvada and try and find out if its goals are not that far off from our own. We might be able to find a way to bend the rules and use the souls of others without endangering our own. I will admit I doubt I am personally up to the task but as the Master as is fond of doing I advise we reveal all that we might be willing to do for Narvada in exchange for your protection in the Flashbacks and perhaps ever finagle the books in order for the scales to balance in the Networks favor my Master.
Magi Vash: Really Master why not just turn all of Justice over to the Loyalists or perhaps just set them up and leave them no choice but to call on Narvada to save their souls but in reality lose them. Then after Narvada has claimed them soul and all you stand back unscathed step in claim a reward from the Loyalists collect on bounty for the Pants of Mordalfus and cut a deal with Narvada to alter the past a little more in our favor for our trouble. Alright I know that sounded evil but someone had to say it after all I know everyone perhaps even yourself was thinking it. I am just saying it is my job to eliminate threats to the Network and place our operatives in key positions in order to expand our operations. From what I can see Justice has bitten off more than they can chew and don’t even get me started on the so called Devils of the Black Sand just another potential fiasco waiting to happen. I beg you all don’t let my Mentor Theurge Kal’Rath further endanger the Network. Since I doubt we will be just turning them all over and collecting on the profits I recommend you completely withdraw from the situation while you give me time to research all of the hidden variables that we still need to master my Master.
Sorceress Delilah: My darling Magi Armand you were stripped of your heritage and your power and I will tell you what I have to say about it. Use it as fuel to use against your enemies of which Justice I assure you are not. Please don’t anyone listen to strongly to Magi Vash for while I love the girl and we even often use the same tactics I see the tasks before us as merely challenges to be overcome which in the end will of course bring profits to all of us, Hecate and of course the Network feel free to arrange that order as you mood suits you by the way. Trust me when I tell you and I realize I am only able grace your presence due to Narvada we have to learn to take the good with the bad. I will not bore those of you who have never had to bow before Demons and become whatever you needed to be in order not become the hunted or perhaps even dinner. So let me assure you all the risk of dealing with Justice and Narvada when you weigh it against what we have acquired already makes it laughable to me. That we are even discussing this to begin with in my mind is a waste of resources. Seriously, Darkholm Imports and Exports, Moneylenders Irresistible Ambition, Cult of Hecate, Network University, Network Criminal Syndicate, Markessa’s Companions and Inn, and of course let me not forget Delilah’s Spicy Hot Shop and Tavern oh and of course my lovely daughter Shay Quickshar. Look they were all either enhanced or literally created by Magi Armand’s involvement with Justice. So seriously let’s break for a little party and as you all know Armand and I have the luxury bedroom suite right down the hall. You know what I always say, party all day and all night as if it was eternal twilight.
Adept Morgath: I have seen and observed all that has transpired as always with compassion and emotion Sorceress Delilah has presented my point so clearly I doubt the logic even needs to be spelled out but I will clarify just for the record. Loyalists, Devils of the Black Sand, Master Summoner Jossen and his Cadre of Assassins, and Narvada the Dark Entity are all threats to our current prosperity. Perhaps what I must remind the Master is that he pledged to aid Justice, Kameron is his cousin while Mordalfus is a like minded soul how could we even consider trying to look at this in a negative light. Laws are important and trust me when I tell you all the last twelve years I have spend with the Master have not even been a blink compared to the trials and tribulations I have seen and witnessed over the millennia of my existence. We live in what is now called the Modern Age and so much from the past has been lost that sometimes it’s hard to even imagine that this wasteland that the world has become was ever any better. Moments like the ones we are in now often only come once an Age. I believe we should prepare ourselves as best we can and use every tool at our disposal to give us an advantage but walk away never! For trust me when I tell you I once stood on such a precipice millennia ago and the results of my inaction and cowardice cost me dearly. The Master Magi Armand has never backed down from any challenge always trusting his intellect and abilities to see him through. All of us assembled here owe our very livelihood to his actions. For the first time in his existence he has suffered like he never had before. The Master or Magi Armand too many of you has always supported us all now it is out turn to return the honor.
Magi Armand: My fellow Network companions thank you all for you candor and honesty. I value your insight and I realize that what Adept Morgath said was perhaps more true than I had believed. I have considered you all many things and it’s time that I start treating you all as family.
My darling Sorceress Delilah how I ever endured my life without you and Shay only Hecate knows. I have never been as carefree as you but by knowing and loving you I have indeed found pleasure that defies description and I would never wish to lose that.
Magi Vash indeed well done for your words were indeed literally straight from my mind and while even before time was altered our paths would have crossed we are now closer than we ever were and it is closeness that I treasure. Although what you need to realize is that closeness and fondness we share is due to Justice and Narvada and if time had not been altered you and I would be having an entirely different conversation my dear sweet, lovely and deadly one.
My beautiful Magi Markessa who ever said beauty is in the eye of the beholder must have never seen the beauty of your soul. I see the joy you have found in a necessary but often mundane task which I bid you perform. You have grown in power and performed your mission admirably and you were right it was perhaps only pride that has stood in my way from opening a dialog with Narvada and that will change thank you my love.
Really my Theurge Kal’Rath I adore you while you honor me with your loyalty and I know how much you really despise Justice especially Drago and his new companion Lazarus. I realize the issues created on the world by the Wand of Wonder that they found. Your must not blame yourself for what happened. We have Narvada to blame for that as the Wand fell into the hands of Tiberius and eventually into the rightful hands of its current wielder. The Staff of the Magi that I wield is a relic in and of itself and while a lesser one I hold it only due to the fact that you did your job and protected us while I had slept you have never failed me and continue to do both your Race and Me proud.
Disciple Am’Irin my Lady we have been my spiritual adviser and friend for fifteen years now only your cousin the Arch Magi Yasriia Alet’tar has been at my side longer. Your devotion to Hecate has never wavered and together we have helped Hecate gain in power. You of course have realized the cost and paid it willingly by split you time between Under and here at Nym’Kren in order to make sure that we will always have a place strong enough to ensure that Hecate continues to prosper. I understand your concern and my faith in Hecate will never waver thanks to you my huntress who I always am willing to be caught by.
Therefore I will move forward and take all precautions and place the entire Network on official Red Alert and place Justice and Narvada for the moment as Dangerous Observe. No one is to be alone and loss of contact for longer than eight minutes is to be reported immediately. In the case of loss of contact the portal is to be sealed and the base shifted to a random location until a verified sending has been received and an all clear has been received from Morgath or I or my clone has awoken. Furthermore funds will be diverted to acquire scrolls of Greater Restoration which will be issued to the entire Inner Council to be used at their discretion or in the case of a breech. Finally regarding Justice, Narvada, Loyalists, Devils of the Black Sand, and the Master Summoner Jossen and his Cadre of Assassins every effort using only our non liquid assets I want brought to bear on finding any information possible for my review.
Unless there any other questions that demand our attention I will call this meeting adjourned and we will move to my suite for additional relaxation before we get back to work. For after all work and no play makes Armand have bad days.
Disciple Am’Irin: Far from me to delay a good time but I advise we meet again in two days to discuss our progress with all matters brought up by Magi Armand and provide updates on our progress.
Adept Morgath: Only one last word for the record we have a new recruit who will need to be overseen Christine the Water Orc I would recommend we leave her here for her will is bound for the next two weeks. I have a feeling her Sorceress Delilah and Disciple Am’Irin will get along fabulously.
Magi Armand: Very well unless anyone wants to invite Justice to join in the fun I will consider this meeting officially adjourned. And let the festivities begin?
