Day Three of Forty Nine Justice Reckoning The Dimensional Haunted Lighthouse Part One

Day Three of Forty Nine Justice Reckoning
The Dimensional Haunted Lighthouse Part One

We had officially returned the Justice Base and the Master carried out his intentions and we transported away to Nym’Kren. Of course I was able to relay the emergency and leave behind a sending stone for Alth. Of course Vas was left at the Safehouse and Gal at the Justice base so that Armana and Mandy could keep an eye on the situation in both locations with the aid of the Master’s and Voltana’s Crystal Ball’s which would allow them to keep abreast of Justice’s situation.

Meanwhile Kameron who had reappeared with Drago and Ti at the Justice Safehouse were still in the middle of discussing a battle of honor the purpose of which was to allow Kameron to finally trust Ti. Totally understandable to and even the terms put forth by Ti seemed well thought out and prepared. Of course for someone who worshipped a chaotic deity like Ares it was something that Kameron could not abide. To be honest they argued the entire time that the Network Council Meeting at Nym’Kren took place.

So it was that I as I had planned left the sending stone for Alth and the Master, Armana, Mandy, Christine and I departed for Nym’Kren. As I have already detailed the record for the meeting I will not repeat myself further. I shall only note that as I have seen Eagle calm Kameron I must admit that a similar effect came over the Master as he was met by Delilah when we arrived in his office. I must admit I have always found it odd that while the Master has many lovers both male and female and while I would have thought his consort of nineteen years Yasriia or even his Mother Lorali might have had more of an influence perhaps it was far simpler. Looking back after observing Delilah with Kameron I was finally able to make sense of it. His Mother who the Master knows loves him still wishes for him a better life then the one he has chosen. On the other had Yasriia truly sees the Master as her own consort instead of the other way around no doubt due to her Drow Elf heritage. The Masters other lovers are only nothing more than pleasant distractions who have been either deceived even often beguiled or business partners but never all three. Well with the exception of Delilah who had somehow manages to achieve all three and even bring the Masters daughter Shay into the world.

Our Network Inner Council meeting had concluded and a few of our Stonechildren, Drow Elves, Tieflings, and Dark Changelings were invited to join us. Well I say us loosely since duty as well as the duty of all of the other attendant familiars was to observe and be ready for any communications that might demand the Masters attention. I of course outranked all of the other attendant familiars so the job fell to me to monitor them as well. So it became my goal to hunt down Natakoo for the Master who it seemed was already in our possession it was just a matter of rerouting his transport to Gix which after all was not quite simpler than I would have expected. Of course things could not have stayed harmonious for long but then again I have learned not to expect anything less from Justice.

Kameron it seemed had finally managed to decide after much tribulation to simply stand toe to toe with Ti and just battle him without magic. The odd part was that Ti and tried to be fair and asked Kameron to lay down an anti-magic field to even the odds but Kameron refused. So of course Kameron lost for without weapons the odds were heavily stacked against him. I actually doubt Kameron could defeat the Master under such conditions. To put it plainly Gargoyles are superior physically to Cambions and Half-Dragons if all things were even. I suppose Kameron must not have realized or perhaps his ego still knows no bounds. For of course he chose not to yield and fell unconscious in less than thirty seconds. For some strange reason he then fell into a fit of melancholy and despair over his unworthiness as a priest of Ares I truly believe that it not been for Eagle he might have taken his own life. Right about then was when I had received the communication from Alth and I let Alth know I would be monitoring the emotional state of Kameron and we would be returning soon.

Of course it was not soon enough and truly while I knew the Master would understand with it being Kameron after all it still bothered me. Don’t get me wrong what some might call deem a weakness I have actually found to be a strength. The Master will stand by those who call him and deem them their Master. He will even go out on a limb for friends and family such is his hierarchy Self, Family, Vassals, Hecate, and finally Friends. So Kameron was near the top of the list and while Friends might seem low on the list you must realize the Master only has a few close friends. Justice has only seen the light side of the Master because he considers Mordalfus a friend as is willing to give the rest of Justice the chance to become his friends as well. So it came to pass that only a few minutes later I could sense from Kameron anger and then despair and I realized I would have to put up with Delilah for cutting short her time with her Armand.

Meanwhile I had already dispatched Mandy and Armana to acquire the body of Natakoo and the Greater Restoration scrolls the Master had requested and even threw in a few speak with dead and a spare true resurrection just for safe measure. I also flew by the alchemy lab to recover a few potions that might prove useful since it seemed we might actually be going into a dungeon setting since it seemed we were haunted lighthouse bound.

Suffice to say I also had a few recommendations to share and of course review with the Master regarding the remodel of the Justice Base. Being an engineer myself it had been my job to examine the base from top to bottom before any of the Masters magics began the remodel in earnest. Of course Alth had been my companion and I had located a secret passage within the closet of Tiberius. Let’s just say for a supposed secure base the passage was a big hole that needed to be plugged. We had returned and the Master dispatched both Mandy and Armana to see to the state of Kameron but of course they were too late for he had vanished. I can’t blame the anger that flowed from both of them for Kameron was proving to be a quite difficult to manage.

Meanwhile the Master and Mordalfus were discussing the secret passage since Mandy and Armana’s combined magic would not be sufficient to deal with the problem. As a matter of fact it seemed that the situation was more complex than it had appeared. Mordalfus actually decided to take a moment to himself saying he would deal with the situation. The Master had already received the body of Natakoo and was prepared to resurrect him but he only wanted to make sure that there were no issues with Mordalfus. Mordalfus had returned and informed the Master that the passage had been created by secretive allies of Justice and along with the remodel requested that the Master work on a seal for the passage.

The Master had at that same time decided to deal with Kameron who I had notice was becoming increasingly interesting to manage. Of course what could I expect from the Masters cousin who in a few short years had become the Pontiff of Ares, Lord of Spearhead Island as well as if not the most dangerous but the most feared member of the street gang known only as Justice. Kameron had been brought back to a state of calm by his lady friend Eagle but of course it did not last long for he had even before support had arrived gotten into an argument with Drago and stormed off via a word of recall spell and traveled to his Ares temple being constructed in the Waste.

So the Master spoke with him and strangely Kameron seemed quite unstable feeling suddenly that everyone within Justice was against him. He also seemed to be suffering from severe case of melancholy over his value within Justice. The Master of course assured him that he was sure that something could be worked out with Drago since it seemed they both had aspirations to the land on which the Haunted Lighthouse sat. Kameron was also concerned about the imposter who had been impersonating him on Spearhead Island. He seemed quite ready to once again blow his stack and while the Master was not worried I will admit I was beginning to have doubts.

Meanwhile while Ti and Drago who had remained at the Justice Safehouse Mandy and Armana were dealing with another protocol that the Master had instructed them to take care of. It had seemed that there magic was not cloaked which while a simple procedure they had it seemed never taken the time to deal with. So Armana took Ti while Mandy took Drago and began to cloak their magic so it would not be revealed by magical detection. Mandy also took the time to remind Drago about how he sought to help him in organization of his proposed magic school and orphanage. Mandy had reminded him that if he wished for the business to be able to turn a profit he would be better served organizing a criminal enterprise perhaps specializing in infiltration and information gathering and using the magic school as a useful front. Of course that was exactly how the Master had founded the Network University Crime Syndicate some twelve years back on Aurora. As a matter of fact the Network now comprised over three hundred loyal members who were sent on missions globally as well as maintain a profitable University. The Master had recognized Perciphea as hostile territory and had therefore sponsored Markessa’s Companions Service and Inn some ten years past in order to have a foothold within the nation. So branching out with Drago would prove a perfect cover to place additional agents of his own.

Kameron was still ranting and raving as it were and had focused on the imposter as his primary focus so the Master had prepped me to enact the protocols that would initiate a report from Mia Lamar. It seemed that Kameron was preparing to get desperate and consider taking matters into his own hands. The Master of course reminded him of the temporal tampering he had performed twelve years in the past when he had informed him of the current situation which of course brings us to our loyal Network Operative Andros Lamar and his twin sister Mia Lamar.

The Network University Operative and Amphibious-Changling Andros Lamar who was also a Wizard of the seventh circle had been placed on Spearhead Island by the Master with the explicit mission of becoming close to him and making himself invaluable as an advisor. He was also to be responsible for the eventual creation of a school of higher magical learning. He had been specially trained for his mission and was not made aware of the situation that would befall Kameron. His cover was solid in that he had sister who had stayed on in Aurora to study magic and that he had been part of a group that had left to make their own way by sea. Of course he was the only survivor of a shipwreck and had being amphibious managed to make his way to the as yet not charted Spearhead Island. His sister Mia Lamar had who was also a seventh circle Wizard had been fortunate to be apprenticed to a Magi in possession of a Crystal Ball which was how after several years she had finally contacted him. Andros of course being happy with his new life they had used his sister’s contacts to assist him and Spearhead Island. Pretty neat and tidy which of course gave his sister a reason to contact him when she had a personal issue to discuss with her Master’s crystal ball and on set schedule once they had both grown power and gained the ability to scry on each other at the same time. Of course this had all only been possible due to information shared by the future Kameron with the Master in the past as I have already mentioned.

Kameron was suddenly pleased and somewhat relieved as the Master informed him that he would brief him on the operations on Spearhead Island. At the same time the Master had Mandy begin negotiations on the Master behalf to acquire the Tower for Kameron as well as additional support from Armand. While simultaneously the Master informed Mordalfus of the situation regarding Kameron. They also discussed Natakoo and in the end it seemed that he had somehow opposed Justice and had taken his own life saying something of losing his honor. Mordalfus spoke of him as being more stubborn and arrogant then even Kameron and too dangerous to be brought back to life. The Master pressed on and found out that while Mordalfus was more than willing to be content with consulting his dead corpse he was deadly opposed to him being brought back to life. Of course the Master realized that more would have to be said once he had spoken with Natakoo but Mordalfus was of course his friend. So he had agreed to hold on the resurrection of Natakoo until he had spoken with him and conferred with Mordalfus. I was of course surprised but it seemed as Natakoo had once been in the Justice soul link it could be considered a Justice matter but what I found even more interesting was what had happened to Natakoo. Could Mordalfus really have managed to somehow manipulate an enemy if Natakoo was even that in order to cause him to end his own life? Perhaps and if so I know it was skill the Master wanted to acquire which meant the study of Mordalfus was no doubt going to become a course of debate and study.

So moving on to the report from Simulacrum Andre who served as the Masters personal secretary and major domo whose job it was to organize all incoming Network Intelligence and forward it to me to forward to the Master. Imagine a giant ever changing tridimensional global illusionary map which tracks all of the Networks Operatives as well as intelligence managed by a hyper intelligent being in possession of hundreds of sending stones manning a crystal ball with telepathy and true seeing and you might begin to be getting the picture of the importance of Andre’s job. In short the Imposter was doing a fantastic job of being Kameron and so far no one had seemed to notice anything once the cover story was in place. The Imposter seemed to be trying to align trade papers to flow to the Island to help sway favor in a particular direction. On another note the battle for the Spearhead Senate seat position had been won by a Warrior Bobby Stallone who seemed while a native to have had support from afar due to the change in power show during his continued battles and eventual victory. Also of note was the apparent formation of an Internal Security Force which while I had to agree with after looking over the mysterious rise of Bobby Stallone. Of course making sure that organization reported to Andros Lamar was going to have to a priority.

With the aid of Mordalfus the Master was also able to determine what had seemed a matter of concern with one of Kameron’s ten delectable female bodyguards sent from the many Islands of Perciphea. I will only say it’s a shame that Kameron was raised by a Dragon as to give him so many fine female specimens was a waste of resources. It would seem Mordalfus was able to provide that the guard in question had issues back in her homeland and she only remained safe as long as she remained on Kameron’s detail. Mordalfus it seemed had already offered her sanctuary but of course it might not hurt for Kameron himself to take notice of her. Mordalfus was also able to confirm from contacts of his own that it had been three days and the Imposter if all remained on schedule be able to relinquish her hold on Kameron’s identity within another day. Kameron seemed content with the report and the knowledge that his longtime aid and trusted advisor Andros Lamar was indeed someone he could trust. That only left the matter of the Lighthouse.

While Mandy had finished negotiating the deal with Drago Mordalfus and he left the Justice Base and traveled to the Justice Safehouse. Once they had arrived at the Safehouse the Master informed Kameron that he would be arriving in his vicinity within a few moments. We of course would have to make a quick detour at Nym’Kren to drop off Natakoo into the safekeeping of Disciple Am’Irin and of course for Lord Kameron to meet his destiny with the enchanting yet deadly Sorceress Delilah perhaps the only person whom the Master would not utterly destroy if they defied him and executed a Kill Order on Kameron.

We had arrived at Nym’Kren and Delilah had been sitting in his High Chair scantily clad in her Drow Elven form and looking even more beautiful than I had remembered and of course her constant companion Redella her Quasit familiar stood relaxed in wolf form at her side. Armand had walked forward and of course kissed her and they had both for a brief moment shed their disguised and embraced and kissed in their true fiendish forms which of course elicited a howl from Redella. Armand had left and told Kameron he would be back in moments stating he had only a minor matter to attend to and that Delilah had been dying to meet him again for ages.

They had of course met twelve years ago to be exact when Kameron along with Mordalfus and Justice had literally pulled him from her arms. I doubted Kameron even remembered it that way as in his perspective it had only happened perhaps a few hours ago at most. I of course stayed behind to observe just to make sure Delilah did not try and shall we say cover up any little accidents. Actually Kameron impressed me he was actually the most diplomatic I have ever seen him he almost played Delilah like a fiddle. At one point when she had been discussing how she was upset at how she had taken Kameron away from her bed he had actually apologized and seemed truly sincere. Which had led into a discussion of the servants and of course the newest indentured one Christine the Water Orc. Kameron actually tried to drive a wedge between Delilah and Armand for while Delilah was opposed to slavery she was perfectly alright with indentured servitude. Kameron tried to make the point that perhaps the Master placed his servants in a position where they would never be able to overcome their debt in order to keep them his permanent servants. Thankfully the Master has always been true to his word in that regard thanks mainly to yours truly so he was unable to gain any ground.

Their discussion had drifted to relationships and his inability to understand how she and Armand had such an open relationship. Oddly while she told him she did not exactly find him appealing he was not someone she wished to eliminate in order to protect Shay or her Armand. Which was really all I had wanted to hear for if Kameron had angered her I would have become worried since I already knew Vash’s take on Kameron and I had to agree with her since while I found Kameron interesting his stubbornness I just knew would get him killed again so my job was just to make sure the Master was not pulled in after him. For the record they also believe it or not discussed the dark force know as Narvada and plans in the works to look into the situation. Kameron even offered to help fund the operation which I found once again fascinating.

The Master had meanwhile moved on to the inner Hecate Temple complex to speak with Disciple Am’Irin did I forget to mention yet another one of his longtime lovers. It had been Am’Irin who had first voiced the plan to use Natakoo as an expendable resource to gain insight and perhaps an instrument to use against Narvada. A point I might add that Mordalfus was not actually opposed to it was just the use of Natakoo that he had opposed by the way. He had informed her of his discussion with Mordalfus and while she driven enough to oppose the Master on religious grounds she trusted his intellect and logic in the past and only left him with a warning. She had relayed to the Master that she would watch over the body of Natakoo and gather the information they needed to proceed while working with Delilah to cover the expenses of outfitting Natakoo when it became necessary. Her warning was a profound one she had told the Master that in a flash of insight it had came to her as she was sure he had deduced that Tiberius had traveled to the past when the other members of Justice had but he had not been present. As Tiberius could not currently be trusted they needed an operative of their own connected to the time jumps who could set plans in motion to counter Narvada’s influence. She continued to advise him that the paranoia of Mordalfus, stubbornness of Kameron, greed of Drago and blind devotion of Ti were issues he would need to watch carefully as they were already beginning to place him in ever increasing danger. Finally she told him to remain true to his faith in Hecate and the ideals he holds to be true to carry him while trusting in me to protect him and see him through the next time shunt.

The Master then did something I have rarely seen him do he actually prayed to Hecate for protection rose and left to recover Kameron. I know how the Master views the Gods he really on sees them as beings who have acquired more power than standard immortal or mortal beings who have managed to acquire enough beings who believe in them possessing enough faith to give them even more power. I of course knew it was much more complex than that but the Master when he had conjured me from the beyond had found the teachings of Hecate profound and very much aligned with his own beliefs and her ways actually did bring him joy so it worked for both of us. I of course prayed as well for the blessings of Hecate for us to always remain the mighty hunters and never the weak and frail prey.

We had one final stop and that was to visit Shay Quickshar the ten year old Fiendish Dark Amphibious Changling daughter and Ultimate Magi of the Master and Delilah Varosh. I have to admit there are very few beings that I would say I feared and Shay would be one of them. She was even that very moment with the help of the Master’s Silthilar apprentice Voltana Arcana and Theurge Kal’Rath’s Ulitharid apprentice Collum performing some even by my standards some dreaded grafting transformation on a human male and female who had been randomly resurrected skeletons that had been laying around in one of the vaults. She was currently working it seemed on some way to transform her test subjects into animals or some other abomination only her mind could conceive. Shay had called a pause to her experiments and smiled when her dad had entered the magic lab. I know the Master was concerned about her experiments but he valued her intellect and insight and she was his treasure his darling. I knew he was thinking about one thing that perhaps he should let her vacation with her Grandmother. Of course the downside of the option would be that then he would have to worry about keeping an eye on Delilah. But ultimately I knew he was not overly worried for Shay knew love and if she loved you she would never treat you as an object of one of her experiments at least there was that. They had embraced and while their minds were almost always connected when Shay had seen her Father and smiled and ran to him to be picked up in a loving embrace on could almost forget the terror she could inspire in her shall we say test subjects. She had of course greeted me and smiled as well and it was a smile that had chilled me to the core. I was thankful when we left the lab and thankful as well that the Master was in even better spirits.

The Master returned to his office and told Kameron it was time to go as the others of Justice were waiting and everything regarding the Lighthouse as well as the Imposter would be settled so he could relax and we could begin as he needed him. I found it odd that Kameron had felt that Justice did not need him and would be better off without him but I did not take the time to question it. For I would only be dealing with his flaw which even the wisdom of Disciple Am’Irin or the charisma of Sorceress Delilah would be able to budge. Of course Delilah had hit on his weakness which was of course Eagle which was sadly a weakness the Master often I knew would not care to exploit. Not because he did not believe it would work but because the Master truly believed he was so powerful that others should trust his judgment when he valued them. Basically if the Master associated with you and you did not call him Master than it meant he associated with you because he valued you and if he valued you and your opinion then of course it was only logical that you should value his advice and opinion. I knew that using Eagle was not beyond me or for that matter anyone else within the Network Inner Circle so I was content to allow the Master his belief in Kameron.

Within in moments with the aid of a scroll the Master, Kameron and I had returned and everyone was waiting and willing to go. The Master had studied the area where the lighthouse resided and there was an established teleportation circle area set aside for visitors to arrive as well as depart. Of course once we had arrived it’s a good thing that it was not a trap for it seemed there was a Half-Dragon hunting public meeting going on. I had to give Klon Barr full marks for showmanship for the distraction pulled away Kameron and Eagle as I would have expected and of course they chose not to listen that it might be a trap. Sometimes I really miss the Dragon Slaying days when I only had to worry about was helping the Master slay the dragons instead of babysitting them.

Our prize and proof that Klon Barr could be trusted was waiting right in front of the lighthouse which the rest of us had continued to approach. It took the form of a young fourteen year girl named Nasani who it seemed had been cloned after being devoured by Kameron. I should note everyone was invisible except for Drago who it seemed had acquired a Wand of Wonder Artifact form which he had transformed into which was a young human male child. Nasani had stared at the Master and made a proclamation that she was going to slay him but he was able to see thru her ruse and realize that she was the response for the request the Master had made regarding information on the Organization of Klon Barr. Mordalfus had seen it as well and had confirmed that the Master had the means to contain the souls of those we might contact who served Klon Barr.

The Master had smiled and informed Mordalfus that he had it covered and indeed between the two of us we did. Nasani made to make the first move and the Master moved forward and channeled thru me a ranged smoky confinement which reduced the young girl to mist which flew across the space between us to be contained with the bottle I had been holding. Unless I released her she was ours forever and I could tell from the reactions of the others they had never seen the type of magic the Master and I had just displayed. They had at first thought we had contained her soul but they soon realized it was better than that we had her entire form in a bottle at our disposal. The Master had followed thru with a magical mind probe of Nasani and found the information we had been seeking as well as why she had been chosen. Drago it seemed knew her and it had been deemed that of all of Kron’s operatives she stood the best chance of returning alive.

Of course the Half-Dragon hunting posse had been a ruse and as Kameron returned the Master asked the others if they valued the life of the young girl and Drago said that he did so I passed the sealed bottle to Drago in his child form. Kameron when he returned it seemed had not noticed Drago change form and for a moment seemed to have thought we had taken a child to help us navigate the lighthouse. It took a moment to clear things up and then we were free to deal with the entrance into the haunted lighthouse.

Suffice the entrance was only the beginning for the Master was soon able to with the aid of his Elemental servants to determine that the interior of the lighthouse was multi-dimensional with perhaps links to other locations inside. Before we made our way inside the Master informed Andre to stay alert and that he was going off the mind grid and to maintain hourly checks on all external and internal operatives and that he would confer with all other simulacrums to assist him. Which was how we had entered the lighthouse which I had a feeling would turn into a maze which if as the Master had deduced finally lead us to a showoff with the agents of Klon Barr. Or so I thought of course until when barely within the lighthouse for less time than it took to notice a romantic tale of love lost ancient in Vain I could feel the pull of the link and I knew we were in for another time shift Hecate preserve us I had time to thing and we were gone.
